About Mutagenesis

Thanks for checking out the Mutagenesis Project!

Mutagenesis is a community-driven bestiary filled with continuously evolving creatures. The project blends procedural generation with user creativity, letting anyone create a new specimen, refine it, and publish it into a shared ecosystem. Every creature becomes part of an ongoing lineage: users can fork an existing design, tweak its traits, and watch alternate branches emerge over time.

The site also supports building the pieces that make those creatures possible. Body parts, behaviors, attacks, and other components come from a shared pool that grows as the community contributes new ideas. These components feed back into the generator, steadily increasing the diversity and personality of what the system can create.

Mutagenesis is meant to be a playful, flexible, and collaborative place where hobbyists, worldbuilders, and GMs can create and discover new strange creatures together. The site is still a work in progress, but the hope is that it becomes a place worth exploring — and maybe a spark for your own creations.
